The Orville: New Horizons has taken all the fans by storm.

Bigger isn’t always better, but in the case of The Orville: New Horizons, that isn’t the case. The episodes are longer, the fight scenes are bigger, and everything is well, better. As I’ve said before, Seth MacFarlane has segued into a forced to be reckoned with when it comes to serious storytelling. In this season of the series, he has, quite frankly, outdone himself even from the previous seasons.

As previously reported, a hashtag #renewtheOrville is making the rounds on social media, and no one, not the fans or the cast and crew of the series, want it to wrap up after season three. Penny Johnson Jerald recently spoke to Winteriscoming.net and explained why it simply can’t end.

The Orville: New Horizons only has two episodes left to finish the season.

Though there are only two more episodes to go in the season before it draws to a close, Jerald says that even though those episodes are standalone, they won’t be enough for fans. She doesn’t think we’ll be satisfied as we’ll want to know more.

"I am a firm believer in that The Orville cannot finish [with] season 3. I know the future episodes that are happening, and they’re standalone…but I don’t think fans will be satisfied…[they’ll say] ‘wait a minute, are you kidding me? I want to know what happens…’"

While the Kaylon war may end this season, finishing with season three would leave so many stories left untold, or, at the very least, with ends dangling. There’s the question of Krill revenge, whether Captain Mercer will be reunited with his daughter, and Topa’s future. Will Dr. Finn and Isaac find a way to make their relationship work? (I mean, come on. After that wonderful dance and the brief moments where Isaac had emotions, there has to be more!)  Will Lt. Malloy finally find a relationship that works? And even Jerald wants to see Dr. Finn’s boys grow up!

All of these questions (and others) cannot possibly be answered in the remaining two episodes. So, hopefuly, Hulu will give fans what they desire and renew the series. Season three simply can’t be the end.
