Collider lists their must-see episodes of Star Trek featuring the holodeck but which series used the concept the best?

Star Trek has really made some unique concepts to help make the show the unique experience it is. From teleportation to the concept of Vulcans, Star Trek has really made its own franchise as unique as possible.

One of the bigger concepts they created, however, was the idea of the holodeck. The holodeck is of course a giant room that uses the idea of virtual reality to generate unique locations, characters, and scenarios for the ship’s crews to experience.

The practicality of it aside, the holodeck has always been one of the most utilized concepts in Trek but who has used it the best? Well, Collider ranked the best episode of the franchise that focused on the holodeck, and it’s rather surprising to see who they think used the concept the best.

One Star Trek franchise has used the holodeck the best

According to Collider, there is no singular “best” episode that featured the holodeck, but they did make it abundantly clear who used the technology the best. Out of the Top 15 episodes on the list, The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine both had five episodes make the list, while Voyager had a whopping seven.

It’s a bit interesting to see Collider give the honor of best use of the holodeck to Voyager, considering Voyager is often looked down upon by some of the more diehard fans, but for those that went through the journey either during its run on UPN or after its arrival on Netflix, many fans would probably agree.

After all, Star Trek.com has even said that Voyager is among the most watched series in Trek history on Netflix, with six episodes featuring on their list.

So clearly the production quality is there, and so it should be no surprise that the most watched episodes on Netflix belong to the same show that best utilized the holodeck concept.
