With it being Halloween, we’re looking at three of the scariest characters from the various Nu-Star Trek series.

For those wondering, Nu-Star Trek is the term given to the shows of the modern Trek lineup. Star Trek’s Discovery, Short Treks, Prodigy, Lower Decks, Prodigy, and Strange New Worlds. The reason we’re lumping all of them together into one list is simple; every show we’ve talked about has 79 episodes or more. Discovery alone has just 55, Short Treks has 10, Picard 20, Lower Decks 30, Prodigy is on episode 11, and Strange New Worlds 10.

That’s 136 episodes combined. The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager have 170+ each. So the Nu-Star Trek series are just not as bountiful or robust with the same number of options to pick from.

So we’re combining them all to figure out which of the characters from the Nu-Star Trek line of series will make the list.

This Halloween we’re looking at the scariest characters from the Nu-Star Trek era of shows

The Gorn child – Strange New Worlds

The unnamed Gorn child (baby) from Strange New Worlds may have posed the most horrifying character in Star Trek in some time. As if to pay respects to the Xenomorph who paved the way for it, the Gorn child made Strange New Worlds fans afraid of the dark again, while making everyone cautious of the things that move in the shadows.

AGIMUS – Lower Decks

Artificial Intelligence has long been something many people have worried about. When people try to make something so smart, so aware, there are always expected consequences and AGIMUS from Lower Decks is that fear in animated form. Voiced by Trek icon Jeffrey Combs, AGIMUS makes everyone very concerned about what unchecked AI can really do to the world.

The Watchers – Prodigy

While they aren’t sentient or individuals, The Watchers are a group of robots that keep tabs on the slaves of Tars Lamora. When the heroes of the series break free from the planet, the Watchers were the primary force that they had to deal with, both in physically form and emotionally. The trauma and terror that the Watchers inflicted carry on through the series. The Watchers will likely strike fear into anyone afraid of surveillance or being stalked, as they were always watching. Never relenting.
