The Tridimensional Chess Set was introduced in Star Trek: The Original Series
In the Star Trek: The Original Series episode “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” which was originally intended to be the first episode in the series, Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Spock (Leonard Nimoy) play a game of tridemensional chess, which is the first time it’s seen onscreen. Though some things changed in the following episodes, including Spock’s eyebrows and the uniforms, the chess game would reappear in other episodes.
The game is popular among Trekkies with various selling prices across retailers, but never before has there been a “try before you buy” option for any Trek merchandise, giving you the chance to determine if the game is something you want to invest in. That changes today with the introduction of the industry-first, interactive shopatainment experience for The Noble Collection’s original series Star Trek Tridimensional Chess Set.
This Star Trek Tridimensional Chess Set is a one of a kind experience.
Paramount Consumer Products has partnered with droppLabs, a division of dropp group (“dropp”), and through its patent protected XR and e-commerce technology, fans can now experience and interact with the 3D chess set before making their purchase of the physical product.
Gurps Rai, the CEO and Co-founder of dropp group calls this the “essence of shopatainment and the future of E-commerce,” going on to say that the company is “completely aligned with Paramount’s and Star Trek franchise’s vision to boldly go where no one has gone before.”
"This is the first integration of droppLab’s technology within Paramount’s e-commerce offerings. By providing Star Trek fans unique, XR-driven and gamified experiences, Paramount will tap into a new frontier of e-commerce industry metrics that will define success going forward."
