Paramount is getting ready for the holiday season with its “Holiday Collection of picks”, which includes Star Trek.

Paramount+ has a Holiday Collection up on its streaming service that includes all sorts of specials from all the major holidays that are upcoming. Shows like Rugrats, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Everyone Hates Chris, Cheers, Beevis and Butt-Head and so many other shows and movies are on the list. Including Star Trek.

The service has specials for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and all sorts of other holidays. Trek is included in three of these respective categories for a total of five episodes, ranging across several different series.

They include The Original Series, The Next Generation, and Voyager.

What Star Trek episodes made the seasonal cut?

Favorites We’re Thankful For

TOS: Charlie X (S1, E7)

Representing Thanksgiving is Charlie X, from the Original Series. Charlie X is a tale that sees a human boy being given immense power but being left in isolation until he’s 17. The Enterprise eventually rescues him but due to his inability to adapt to people, he becomes a nightmare for all those around him.

Christmas Classics

TOS: Dagger of the Mind (S 1, Ep 10)

It’s a Christmas-themed episode, featuring a character named “Noel” but beyond that, it isn’t very Christmasy in theme. There’s death, torture, and heartache throughout the entire episode but it is among some of the best Trek ever made.

TNG: Devil’s Due (S4, Ep13)

Devil’s Due has very little to do with Christmas as a holiday, though it does feature Data playing Ebenezer Scrooge to open the episode. Considering it’s a character and scene right out of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, it makes total sense that it’d be involved on this list.

TNG: Tapestry (S 6, Ep 15)

Tapestry is basically The Next Generation’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” as we go through Jean-Lu Picard’s history, and see the events of his life that turned him into the man that he is.

New Year’s Eve

VOY: Eleven Fifty-Nine aka 11:59 (S5, Ep 22)

The lone Voyager entry is the fifth season’s Eleven Fifty-Nine. Not one of Voyager’s best but it is an episode that centers around various holidays as Kathryne Janeway learns some disappointing facts about her ancestor, Shannon O’Donnel. It did create the Star Trek holiday Ancestor’s Eve, however.
