A Star Trek: O’Brien series seems like a good idea on paper
By Chad Porto
Many fans want a Star Trek show built around Worf but what about Chief Miles O’Brien?
Star Trek fans are hoping that there are more shows like Star Trek: Picard; limited-run shows that wrap up the stories of some of their favorite characters. One such name we hear about a lot is Worf and a “Captain Worf” series has long been a show that fans have championed.
Other names we hear a lot about are a Kathryn Janeway series, a Seven of Nine series, and a Deep Space Nine sequel series. Yet, one fan created a mockup poster for a Chief Miles O’Brien series. O’Brien was a recurring character on The Next Generation before moving on to a leading role in Deep Space Nine.
He’s often cited as a fan favorite from the franchise and fans everywhere have expressed their desire to see more of the character. While he may or may not appear in Picard, we have the perfect show to bring him back in.

Make Miles O’Brien the lead for the rumored Starfleet series
Miles O’Brien would be perfect for the long-rumored Starfleet series. If the man who brought O’Brien to life, Colm Meaney, is interested in a return, we here say, “do it.”
O’Brien is such a likable and relatable character and putting him in a school setting for he’s instructing these kids how to behave and act like Starfleet officers and the like would be a show worth watching
Especially considering you could bring back several other characters as well to fit in the new environment. Like his wife and daughter Keiko and Molly O’Brien. Not to mention his DS9 best friend, Julian Bashir.
All of these characters have their own fandoms and all of them to some degree fit into the concept of being in or around the Starfleet Academy.
Of course, it all rests on the shoulders of the talent involved. If they’re not interested, there’s no point and if Meaney doesn’t want to, the entire idea would need to be reworked.
