Did we get the first look at a Jean-Luc Picard’s rumored son during Star Trek: Picard’s final trailer?

Star Trek: Picard may have given us Jean-Luc Picard’s rumored son.

Rumors have been running rampant for months now that Star Trek: Picard will reveal Jean-Luc Picard’s unknown son. The rumor goes that Picard and Beverly Crusher had an intimate encounter at some point over the years and produced a son. Maybe the son isn’t Crusher’s but in every rumor we heard, it’s definitely Picard’s son. If the rumors of Crusher being his mother is true, this may have explained the trailers we got.

In the latest trailer, Crusher is seen with a young man who isn’t too happy to see Picard. We don’t know his character’s name but we do know that he’s Crusher’s assistant, at least according to the Wiki entry.

The character’s name is purposefully left off every official source, so it’s clearly done intentionally, and the actor playing this unnamed, rumored son of Picard, is no scrub; he’s Ed Speleers. Speleers has been on Downton Abbey, and Outlander, while featured in Alice Through the Looking Glass, and was Eragon in the film adaptation of the book, Eragon.

He’s not some new name to the scene, so landing him means that he’s playing a pivotal role.

Is the new villain connected to Ed Speleers character?

Vadic is set up to be one of the more prominent characters in the final season of Picard and will feature as the main villain of season three. At least we’re led to believe she’s the main villain of the season. Anything is possible here, and one of those possibilities involves her potentially being connected to Speleers character.

Should Picard have a son, and should he have been a secret for years, it wouldn’t be too shocking to find out that Vadic either had custody of him at one time or sought to harm him to get to Picard. Either instance would clearly give her motive for attacking Picard and the Next Generation cast. This is just speculation but seeing how something similar played out in Prodigy, it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the direction they went.
