Star Trek: Picard showrunner has already confirmed we will not see Denise Crosby on the third and final season of the series.

However, he didn’t say anything about a potential son the half-Romulan might have, and with the introduction of Ed Speleers, rumors have been swirling that he has come to exact revenge because Admiral Picard didn’t save Romulus from destruction. Therefore, he has been robbed of his birthright and is out for blood which very well could accidentally be Captain Riker’s blood as he is shown in the trailer holding the good captain at bay with a phaser.

Before you say anything about Speleers lack of Romulan features, Kris Thomson, the editor for Whatculture, pointed out that he could only be one quarter Romulan so that might have spared him the ears and the eyebrows. And Troi does make that announcement about darkness coming right before Speleers’ face comes into view in the trailer. So if he is Sela’s son, it would make sense that he is part of that darkness.

Star Trek: Picard fans haven’t ruled out a return of Sela herself despite Terry Matalas’ denial of a Denise Crosby appearance.

Frankly, at this point, anything could happen for what is being lauded as the final season of Patrick Stewart’s series. We didn’t know we were going to see Wil Wheaton in season two of Picard until he showed up. So Matalas could very well be keeping this surprise under his hat, so to speak, to add a bit of wow factor to the third season.

Even if Crosby doesn’t return as Sela, having her son show up in her stead could add a bit of spice, especially if Picard’s love interest from season two, Laris (Orla Brady) is still around at the time. Seeing Picard involved with a Romulan after what happened on Romulus might be enough to send SEla’s son over the edge. Even if this is pure speculation, it’s an interesting concept.

Denise Crosby will not appear on Star Trek: Picard after all. dark. Next
