Star Trek: Picard star Todd Stashwick shares a piece of history
Todd Stashwick portrays the captain of the U.S.S. Titan on the third season of Star Trek: Picard.
The third and what has been announced as the final season of Star Trek: Picard premieres on February 16th. It’ll be a time of wonderful memories for Trekkies who have watched every episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation (obviously more than once). We haven’t seen this crew all together like this since Star Trek: Nemesis in 2002. So it’s understandable that we’re all getting a little excited. The Next Generation is a part of our history. Todd Stashwick, who will portray the captain of the U.S.S. Titan, which used to be Captain Riker’s ship, is feeling the same sense of nostalgia.
He recently shared of picture of himself as a ten-year-old boy kneeling in front of the Chinese Theater on Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles. In the caption, he says he’s at the footprints of some sci-fi icons. And next week, he’ll be back at the theater, on screen this time with some other sci-fi icons. He calls life “wonderfully strange.”
Star Trek: Picard is coming full circle on February 16th.
In just a few days, we’ll be reunited with the crew from the beloved Enterprise, and just like Stashwick, we’ll probably be thinking how wonderfully strange life is. These characters we thought we’d never see together again will be reunited, and we’ll have possibly one last chance to say goodbye. (Some of us are holding out hope for continued adventures with this crew.)
Just as Stashwick couldn’t have possibly known he’d end up acting with some of the greatest science fiction actors in history, we couldn’t have known we’d see Captain Picard’s crew again. But one thing is for sure, even if the adventures continue after this season, there will eventually come a time when we do have to say goodbye to our favorites. So I encourage you to watch them all while you have the chance. Even if you’re not a fan of Star Trke: Picard, just be a fan of these characters we’ve known for over twenty-five years and tune in to see them off.
