James Kirk is in Star Trek: Picard.

You did not misread that, James Kirk is in Star Trek: Picard. Technically. Picard’s sixth episode of their final season, “The Bounty” sees the core cast of characters arrive at the Daystrom Station, a massive space station, that is currently in possession of many remarkable things, like a new version of Data, the holographic program that is Morarity, and somehow, the body of Jean-Luc Picard.

Don’t forget that the Picard “died” in season one and the Picard we see currently is a golem of sorts, a synthetic body that will die of natural causes; because of reasons. Though the golem does contain the memories and essence of Picard. Again, because of reasons.

If you thought that was wild, Picard’s corpse wasn’t the only one you can see on display. If you look closely, you can clearly see that the corpse of James Kirk is being kept in this secret facility, for reasons unknown as of yet.

James Kirk being “in” Star Trek: Picard is the wildest cameo yet.

While Kirk has popped up in the season finale of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, that’s an alternate reality that may no longer exist. The last canonical adventure of Kirk remains in Star Trek Generations, where he met his end. It’s the one and only time that Kirk and Picard share screen time, and would help explain why the two men ended up in the same show together.

While it’s unlikely that Picard does anything beyond this little cameo, it’s entirely possible that Paul Wesley could make a return to the franchise within Picard after all the show has already brought back the Voyager, the Enterprise-A, and a Deep Space Nine villain; the Changelings. It’s entirely possible they bring in a Strange New Worlds cameo.

Possible, but highly unlikely.
