Star Trek actor Jeffrey Combs has played a lot of characters in Star Trek.

Star Trek actor Jeffrey Combs is beloved by the Trek faithful. The 68-year-old actor has been in three of the four core shows during the 1980s and 1990s. He’s had roles on Deep Space Nine, Enterprise, and Voyager, but never the Next Generation.

Despite never being on the flagship show, Combs has become among the most vaunted, respected, and beloved Star Trek actors of all time, despite only appearing in 37 episodes across four series (counting Lower Decks).

So we decided we were going to go back and rank the characters he’s appeared on. We’re using several criteria, namely the number of appearances, the impact of the appearance, and the character’s likability. Also, despite playing some-five versions, we’re only counting the Weyoun’s as one character.

Ranking Jeffrey Combs’ Star Trek characters

9. Krem (Enterprise)

While Jeffrey Combs Ferangi character Krem would have made for a much better base for the species (space pirates) in The Next Generation, the character was largely forgettable.

8. Tiron (Deep Space Nine)

Tiron as a character was nothing more than a sleazy rich guy and is utterly forgettable other than the fact that Combs lived, in essence, to give Quark grief, no matter what character played.

7. Kevin Mulkahey (Deep Space Nine)

Combs’ played the racist cop Kevin Mulkahey in DS9’s “Far Beyond the Stars”. It was a predictable role considering the episode.

6. AGIMUS (Lower Decks)

A sentient computer who manipulates those around it, AGIMUS was mostly a comedy villain on Lower Decks, though his claim to have turned over a new leaf was hilarious.

5. Penk (Voyager)

Penk was the slave promoter for the famed Voyager episode where Seven of Nine fought The Rock. His character wasn’t all that deep but it was one of Voyager’s best episodes.

4. Mirror Universe Brunt (Deep Space Nine)

Unlike his real-world counterpart, this Brunt was brave, loyal, and dutiful. Finding joy in his friendship with Ezri, and his work as an engineer.

3. Brunt (Deep Space Nine)

An instigator for the Ferengi Commerce Authority, Brunt was the slimiest of the Ferengis, always trying to catch Quark breaking the rules, which is something Quark did often.

2. Weyoun (Deep Space Nine)

A member of the Vorta, he served as a proxy for all the Founders. Essentially just a mindless clone, with one duty, the Weyoun’s were canon fodder mostly but their impact on the show can’t be undermined. They were a regular fixture for a reason.

1. Thy’lek Shran (Enterprise)

It’s Shran at number one, obviously. He’s witty, loyal, dutiful, and has a friend with Jonathan Archer we can all be envious of.
