Star Trek: Strange New Worlds dropped the first trailer for the second season of the show.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has dropped its first official trailer for the second season of the show. Despite this being the first look at the second season of the show, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen new footage. We got a teaser trailer about a month ago on April 19.

It was fine, but it wasn’t unexpected. It was short, concise and showed us what we expected it to show us. Nothing out of the ordinary. After the show launched the teaser trailer, we then got leaks of the second season, with the first look at Star Trek: Lower Decks characters Brad Boimler and Beckett Mariner, played by Jack Quad and Tawny Newsome respectively.

That leak was quickly taken down, simply because numerous outlets accidentally published the trailer far too early. After being taken down, images of Boimler and Mariner started to circulate, and that was the best most of us got to get out of that premature release. Now, however, we got a new trailer and this trailer does such a great job of getting us hyped for the upcoming season.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds looks like a very fun second season

The trailer starts off strong, highlighting the one character who I think got the most overlooked in season one, Erica Ortegas. The pilot shows off her daring, brash personality when she allows the shuttle they’re in to plummet without its engines on, before powering them up right before impact.

In that one scene, it sets up who she is as a person, and what you can expect from the trailer.

In the above trailer, we get to see the return of James Kirk to the Enterprise, a very free Una Chin-Riley and of course the arrival of the Lower Decks crew to the ship. They do a great job highlighting the major reasons to pay attention to this season.

All in all, it seems like a very fun season.
