Jadzia Dax was one of my favorite characters on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and once she and Worf became a couple, their interactions really enhanced the series. The word was that Terry Farrell, who played Jadzia, wanted to move to part-time, and the powers-that-be said no. It was either full-time or no time, which led to Jadzia being killed not long after she and Worf had gotten married.

And if losing Jadzia wasn’t bad enough, her death seemed like an afterthought. There was no hero’s death for her, like it was merely a means to an end to dispose of the character. Many fans had an issue with not just the fact that Jadzia died but how she was killed.

Terry Farrell has recently spoken about wanting to return to the Star Trek universe, and if this could happen in an organic way, we’d love to see a reunion between Jadzia and Worf as well as the rest of the Deep Space Nine crew.

Dying on a Star Trek show isn’t always the end. We’ve had other characters come back to life, and there’s no reason why Jadzia Dax can’t be one of those characters. Star Trek has some excellent writers who can manufacture a return to the land of the living for Farrell’s character, and, at this point, we don’t even care what series they would return her to. As I’m sure all fans of Jadzia would agree, it’s more important that she be brought back.
