Captain James T. Kirk is portrayed beautifully on Displate.com’s steel poster
I’ve written a couple of times over the last week or so about Displate.com and the wonderful work they do creating steel posters for Star Trek fans and over 200 other fandoms. Their artists are phenomenally gifted and use their talents to create unique works of art any fan would be proud to display. There is literally something for everyone, even if you are simply looking for posters of mountains or greenery.
I was fortunate enough to be sent one of the Displate posters for review. And I’m happy to say this piece of art did not disappoint. It arrived in a securely-packaged box with Displate—Collect Your Passions on the outside. Magnets were provided on the back of the poster along with detailed instructions on how to hang and/or display it.
The poster itself is 26.6 x18.9 with a matte finish. You do have an option of a glossy image if you prefer, and there are various sizes.
Star Trek: The Original Series’ Captain James T. Kirk is beautifully painted, with the captain holding a tricorder. The bottom of the poster bears the Kirk quote “Sometimes a feeling is all we humans have to go on.” You get the added benefit of the Enterprise in the background along with a close-up of Kirk’s face from his younger days.
There are not enough descriptive adjectives in the dictionary to describe this piece of art. The colors are vibrant which makes the scene seem real. The explosions behind the captain are the perfect accompaniment to the blue/purplish sky and the briefest glimpses of stars.
Kirk appears to be standing in the middle of the galaxy which makes sense considering how far he traveled the galaxy, and the artist really conveyed William Shatner’s authoritative look and stern demeanor.
If you’re looking for a unique gift that will stand out from the crowd, you won’t go wrong with this poster or any of the other ones Displate has available. And I thank Displate once again for sending me this poster for review!
