First look at Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season three is a winner

Some crew members of the USS Enterprise are going to be suppressing emotions in one episode of season three of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as, in the first look clip below, a mission requires more Vulcans than the ship has. So Captain Pike [Anson Mount], Nurse Chapel [Jess Bush], Ensign Uhura [Celia Rose Gooding], and Lt. La'an Noonien-Singh [Christina Chong] are given a makeover, but not just with some prostethics. The foursome are injected with a compound that changes them into Vulcans, and just like that, season three of the series is off to a great start!

Unfortunately, Pelia [Carol Kane] is left out of the fun when the compound doesn't work on her, and the newly-changed Vulcans are quick to point out that Spock [Ethan Peck] is only half-Vulcan which makes for some unsettling moments for Spock. And Captain Pike's Vulcan hair is a sight to behold!

Though the mission goes off without a hitch, it wouldn't be a Star Trek show if there wasn't a complication at the end. And this complication is going to have some hilariious and disconcerting ramifications.

The team behind Strange New Worlds proves yet again that the series is taking some big swings with its cast, and in this short five-minute clip, they're proving they know what they're doing. No doubt this episode will be more comedy than drama, but that's not suprising as every season delves into humor. Given, though, how season two ended on a cliffhanger, this episode won't be available until later on in the season, wh ich is a shame since, after seeing this brief clip, I want to see how this part of the mission turns out!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will return to Paramount + in 2025, and the series has already been renewed for season four.
