Michelle Hurd says she's trying to manifest Star Trek: Legacy
Michelle Hurd played Raffi Musiker on Star Trek: Picard for three seasons, and when the series finale ended on a note that brought forth the possibility of a spin-off, she was onboard. And she remains that way. In fact, she's still hoping that Star Trek: Legacy, as Picard showrunner Terry Matalas has named it, will happen. More than that, she told Trekmovie that she feels like the series is something that has to happen.
Hurd said she's been attending a lot of conventions, and she gets asked the inevitable question "when is Star Trek: Legacy happening." She doesn't have a solid answer, but she says she's trying to manifest it. She encourages fans to do the same by writing about the potential series and spreading the word on social media.
"I’m hoping they’re going to do it. I’m trying to manifest it and just put it out there. Because I really feel like it’s something that has to happen. This can’t be the last time Raffi’s voice is spoken. I think everybody wants to see Jack Crusher and Seven of Nine and Raffi navigate the galaxy. I’ve been doing cons lately. I just came from a con and EVERYBODY asked me about Star Trek: Legacy. I just feel like we’re teed up. We’re ready to go, you know? Whenever I talk to Star Trek fans they are like, “When is Star Trek: Legacy happening?” I’m right there with you, manifesting. Write about it. Put it on social media because I would love to be there. There is no reason for us not to do it."
- Michelle Hurd
The series finale of Star Trek established the basis for a new Star Trek television series with Captain Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) at the helm of the new Enterprise with Raffi as her second in command and Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers) as her consultant. As Hurd says, "I just feel like we’re teed up. We’re ready to go, you know?"
Matalas has already clarified that there has been no discussion about the potential series. So, as far as we know, this isn't even on Paramount's plate. But literally everyone involved in the series finale of Picard is onbard, and the fans are rooting for this production. Of course, there's the issue of money, and Paramount+ isn't in a stable position right now. So as much as we want Legacy, we could be waiting a long time for an answer unless another strong social media push will move the lever in the right direction.
