Robert Picardo doesn't see a Star Trek: Voyager reunion movie happening
Since the third season of Star Trek: Picard reunited the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation (while also bringing back Seven of Nine for all three seasons) and Star Trek: Prodigy has brought back three of the former members of Star Trek: Voyager back together, though only in voice, the hope for a Voyager reunion movie has grown stronger.
There have been various conversations about Kate Mulgrew returning to a live-action series, perhaps in much the same way Patrick Stewart did as Admiral Picard. The show wouldn't be solely about the entire Voyager cast but could alternately bring in characters as needed. But would that eventually lead to a full-on Voyager reunion? Who knows? One thing we do know, though, is that Robert Picardo, who spent seven seasons playing the Emergency Medical Hologram on Voyager and recently reprised the character on Prodigy, isn't too positive about the potential for a movie.
In an interview with Screerant to discuss his return to the role of The Doctor in Prodigy, Picardo was asked about the possibility of such a reunion. And while he thinks it would be "great," he doesn't place much stock in it actually happening, instead, referring to the chances of such as movie as "unlikely."
"You know, of course, that would be great. I think it's unlikely considering the cost and the lead time for those projects. It's unlikely but anything's possible in the world of Star Trek. And it was so successful with the Next Gen cast and who knows? Maybe we'll get the shot."

But everyone thought Stewart was done with Picard after Star Trek: Nemesis, and he surprised all of us by returning. And the third season of his series was a blow-out success. That has to have made Paramount execs realize just how much love Trekkies still have for the stars of the pre-Kurtzman era. And while a reunion movie might not be on the horizon right now, there's a new boss in town over at Paramount+, and that means times-are-a-changing. So what might not have happened two or three years ago could very well happen in the next two or three. Anything's possible, right?
