While we don't know when we can expect to see the third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, we know it'll be in 2025. Now, we've just learned that, although season four was set to begin filming in the spring of next year, Paul Wesley, who plays Lt. Kirk on the popular series, has let it drop that season four will return to filming in February 2025. [via Trekmovie]

With fans having to wait so long between the second and third season, it's no wonder things are moving a little faster with season four. Season three wrapped filming in May 2024 after beginning in December 2023. Season two took the same length of filming time, filming from February 2022-July 2022. So we can expect season four's filming to wrap around July. As season three will begin airing some time next year, we expect that season four won't air until 2026, which keeps the series at one season per year and gets it back on track.

Season two ended on a cliffhanger with Captain Pike [Anson Mount] and his team facing off with the dreaded Gorn once again. His girlfriend, Captain Batel [Melanie Scrofano] had been infected with Gorn eggs just like Hemmer [Bruce Horak] in season one. Hemmer chose to sacrifice himself to save the Enterprise, but Pike was determined to save Captain Batel and chose to bring her aboard the Enterprise in hopes of finding a cure.

But we already know, based on the first look trailer, that the season isn't going to stay focused on serious topics all season long as Captain Pike and his away team are turned into Vulcans for a mission. For some reason, the cure to restore them to their original selves fails. That said, though, it's doubtful the Gorn are gone for good as they seem to be much like the Borg as a major villlain.
