Star Trek: Lower Decks is in the books with its final episode having aired just this past week. It's being heralded as a final episode worthy of the show and one that fans have really enjoyed. With its conclusion, there are now four shows in the Star Trek pantheon that have wrapped up during the Nu Trek era.

A potential fifth could happen soon if Netflix doesn't renew Star Trek: Prodigy. Yet, until that show formally gets canceled, there are currently just four shows that have been formally canceled and brought to an end. Those four are (in order of debut) Discovery, Short Treks, Picard, and Lower Decks.

The first four shows of the Nu Trek Era. With all of them in the books for good, we're going to rank and grade each of the first four shows of the modern era of Star Trek to see not only how far we've come but where we started. It'll help add a little perspective to where we were, and how we got to where we are.

Most of these shows are not the most well-received and the grades will reflect that. It's important to note that you may enjoy these shows more than me, but these four first shows of the Nu Trek Era were the embodiment of everything I don't want Star Trek to be.

So it's not at all surprising that other shows like Prodigy and Strange New Worlds were more well-received for their embracing of the Star Trek formula. It's also why I would give them the highest grades in the modern show.

Yet, before we talk about the shows still running, let's take a look at the ones that have come to a close.
