Lt. Uhura is skilled in espionage and interrogation strategies

In Star Trek canon, Lt. Nyota Uhura is a communication specialist with advanced training in a variety of Starfleet communication systems and subspace communication arrays. In the series "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" - as a polyglot, we learned that Uhura can speak 37 different languages (including Klingon, Vulcan, Romulan, Andorian, and Tellarite). With her knowledge and exposure to a variety of different cultures and species, Uhura is a skilled diplomat and cultural liaison and is vital in Starfleet first-contact scenarios.  Additionally, Uhura is a trained cryptographer and a consummate codebreaker, as evidenced on her on many missions to decipher alien languages to rescue her crew in and out of a variety of dangerous situations that required the finesse of a skilled linguistic hacker.

As a potential origin story, Star Trek 4 would do well to script a storyline that includes Lt. Uhura as a highly skilled and efficient tactician in the service of Starfleet…yes, a spy! Just think about a secret operative with a unique set of skills to read lips in 37 different alien languages, with the technical know-how to navigate and decipher alien communication systems, and the diplomatic and cultural sensitivity to understand and decipher the nuisances of different body language among a vast spectrum of alien species across the Alpha and Delta Quadrants.  Additionally, Uhura is a talented interrogator, skilled at extracting or enforcing intelligence information from Starfleet antagonists.

I am so on board for a “Star Trek: Uhura – Secret Agent” subplot addition to the Star Trek canon in the upcoming Star Trek 4 feature film. As an example, imagine a Scarlett Johansson as “Black Widow” type storyline with Zoe Saldana (Lt. Uhura) as a Federation operative on a secret mission. A potential mission to infiltrate her way onto a Romulan Star Empire warbird starship to gain intelligence and tactical advantage to their cloaking technology. I look forward to the progression of Zoe's Lt. Uhura and her development as a formidable female heroine in her own right in Star Trek canon. Or a plot twist - what if Lt. Uhura was recruited as an agent for Section 31!
