2. 'What Are Little Girls Made Of?'
Ted Cassidy appeared on screen as the android Ruk in "What Are Little Girls Made Of?" from the first season of Star Trek: The Original Series. Ruk was a massive, unsettling creation who silently followed Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and Christine Chapel (Majel Barrett) through a nearly abandoned complex hidden underground. Today, the character’s physicality alone still makes an impression, but Cassidy’s performance gives Ruk a quiet threat that lingers throughout the episode.
