Last month, Redshirts Always Die discussed Nacelle’s Wave 1 Star Trek action figure group, which includes eight highly detailed figurines. Wave 1 certainly saw its share of problems during its release, including shipping delays, but those of us who pre-ordered a figure got a holiday surprise when pre-orders shipped and arrived right around Christmas!

As an Enterprise and Scott Bakula fan, imagine my delight when I received my Mirror Jonathan Archer figurine much earlier than expected. Join me as I provide a detailed look at this Nacelle collectible and discuss whether it's worth adding to a Star Trek collection.

In a package, darkly

The Nacelle figurine's box came densely packaged, and once I got the bubble wrap off, I was treated to a beautiful box in shades of black and maroon, which match the dark, dystopian tone of the Enterprise episodes Mirror Archer appeared in: "In a Mirror, Darkly" and "In a Mirror, Darkly, Part II" (he only wore the green uniform in "Part II").

Prints of the figurine line the sides of the box, and the rear of the packaging features a summary of who Mirror Archer is and photos of all eight available collectible figures from Wave 1.

The box itself is sturdy, so whether you plan to keep Mirror Archer trapped inside or let him out to display him with other Nacelle figures, it should be able to take a fair amount of handling before showing any wear and tear.

My Mirror Archer box will be stored in an airtight storage tub because who needs a centipede in their collectibles. In many cases, the condition of the box is almost as important as the figure itself.
