The Enterprise-D is now warp-speeding its way for sale outside of LEGO.
Star Trek’s first foray into the world of LEGO resulted in the jaw-dropping 3,600 piece USS Enterprise-D set, which sold out faster than a Tribble can multiply over the holiday season. Yes, it was finally restocked, but Trekkies could only pick up the Galaxy-class collectible through LEGO. However, Captain Jean-Luc Picard’s beloved starship is now available through Amazon.
Unfortunately, the ultimate LEGO collectible still comes at a premium price: $399.99. However, in addition to the pieces necessary to construct the Enterprise-D, buyers will also receive nine of the most memorable characters from Star Trek: The Next Generation, including the aforementioned Captain Picard, Commander William Riker, Data, Worf, Dr. Beverly Crusher, Geordi La Forge, Deanna Troi, Wesley Crusher, and “special guest star” Guinan!
It’s hard to fathom why it took so long for Star Trek and LEGO to finally collaborate. However, now that the turbolift doors are wide open, I hope it will only be a matter of time before more iconic vessels from the beloved science fiction franchise join the roster. I’d personally like to see LEGO sets for the USS Enterprise (TV and film versions), a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, and a Borg Cube drop in the future.
Have you purchased the Enterprise-D LEGO set yet? How long did it take you to complete it? Share your stories and comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages. Plus, be sure to check out the hilarious Star Trek/LEGO announcement trailer (below), which is narrated by none other than Jonathan Frakes. And if you’re interested in purchasing the collectible, visit Amazon.
Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
