Star Trek's future

Obviously, Star Trek fans are concerned about the future of the franchise under this new leadership. It's even possible with the Warner Bros. acquisition that Star Trek may not get the same level of attention. However, Alex Kurtzman claimed there’s plenty of support not just for the current Trek shows but for future ones. Kurtzman said in the same interview:
“Yes, I’ve had conversations with them about the future of Star Trek. Yes, we’ve gotten nothing but support. Yes, there have been specific shows that have been discussed. And we’ll see. I’m truly at the beginning of the conversation with them now. And so I hesitate to say anything to you, because I don’t have anything to report yet. But I can report that the conversations are happening.”
Those future shows include season 2 of Starfleet Academy and the final two seasons of Strange New Worlds. Three Star Trek films were announced prior to the Warner Bros. acquisition, and there’s likely more shows being planned. The follow-up to SNW, “Star Trek: Year One,” was officially pitched, plus there's Tawny Newsome’s live-action comedy. No, it wouldn't make sense for Paramount Skydance to ignore Trek following the Warner Bros. acquisition.
Obviously, a lot can change as there are still several legal obstacles to hurdle before the merger goes through. However, Kurtzman seems confident Trek’s future is secure in this new era under the upcoming Paramount/Skydance/Warner Bros. flag.
