Getting smacked in your Trek feels doesn't stop with this list itself. It reminds us of all the wonderful and talented actors we've loved and lost: Leonard Nimoy, Rene Auberjonois, Aron Eisenberg, and DeForest Kelley, just to name a few.

It's also gratifying to see which characters went on to have stellar careers. Our beloved Nyota Uhura made captain, and Harry Kim finally got promoted! (Or at least certified). Sulu's daughter, Demora, becoming a Starfleet captain just like her legendary father, is also enough to make even the most cynical Trek fan tear up!

While responses to this new Star Trek: Starfleet Academy clip vary, it serves the legacy of all the series that have come before. No matter how the show fares, it's certainly proud of its roots.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy comes to Paramount+ next year, on Jan. 15. Will you be watching? Share your thoughts and comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages.
