2. 'Come Let’s Away'

For the first five episodes, SFA was a somewhat light-hearted series. It had a lot of comedic elements, some romance, and played more as a YA style show than Trek. This episode was a tonal whiplash for the viewers, putting the Academy cadets through the worst lesson imaginable.
What begins as a standard training exercise ends up with the cadets being attacked by brutal raiders, plus the shocking death of B'Avi. The threat posed by the Furies is so great that Ake must agree to work with Braka to rescue the kids. However, Ake realizes too late Braka engineered this entire event, showcasing his brilliance.
The episode hits hard with the fast editing amping up the stakes and the scares for the characters. There is a stunning moment when Tarima shows off her full powers, which sends her down a darker path. It’s no wonder the cadets and even Ake are shell-shocked by the end of the episode as many viewers will feel the same. This episode was a turning point for Academy.
