3. '300th Night'
The penultimate episode of the season is a very strong one.
"300th Night" opens by showing how far the core five cadets have come as most join Jay-Den's Klingon house. However, Caleb is still consumed by the quest for his mother. He finally gets a lead, intending to go alone only for SAM, Genesis, and Darem to join him, showing how they’ve become a new family.
Tatiana Maslany is stellar in showing how damaged her character Anisha is, wary of Starfleet and having difficulty reuniting with her son. Of course, it can’t be a happy reunion as the cadets are caught in Braka’s grand plan to use a cosmic weapon against the Federation. The cliffhanger of Ake racing in for a rescue is well done, showcasing terrific action and stellar growth for all the characters to set up the big season finale.
