Those who openly criticize the series' performance aren’t taking Amazon into account.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy continues to stir up controversy among the fandom, and its overall streaming performance certainly can’t be what showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau were hoping for. On the worldwide stage, Starfleet Academy only debuted at No. 9 on the Paramount Plus Top 10 streaming chart, and it has struggled to rise higher, even with three episodes now under its belt — at least on the surface. However, many naysayers aren’t taking Amazon into account.
According to FlixPatrol, Starfleet Academy premiered at No. 3 on the Paramount Plus Top 10 Overall (from Amazon Channels) chart, which is continually dismissed by those so-called fans who are dead set on hating the sequel series. And the naysayers aren’t going to like the fact that after episode 3, “Vitus Reflux,” creator Gaia Violo’s show is now ranked No. 2 overall on those same Amazon channels, as of Saturday, Jan. 24.
In fact, Starfleet Academy is outperforming popular titles like The Running Man remake and Tulsa King on the Paramount Plus Amazon channels’ overall rankings. Only the No. 1 Billy Bob Thornton-led Landman is doing better. It’s also worth noting that Starfleet Academy has performed well at times in the United States… and from the very beginning. The streaming series debuted at No. 3 domestically on Paramount Plus.
