2. Storytelling maintains character consistency
Any Star Trek fan will tell you that a series' writing is what creates connections between viewers and characters. Performance matters, but all Jarrett Melendez has for this static medium is words, and he uses them in a way that has you nodding with complete understanding.
The full-stop period that Melendez uses in the moment when Syrrik calls himself a "coward," instead of using an exclamation point, is a definite storytelling choice.
Some characters require consistency, like MeeMee. When Leon and the gang meet up with Kenga and MeeMee, the first thing the latter says is, "Boys! What's up? Spill the hot goss!" That's consistent with how Melendez has framed her in the past — she always wants the tea, and you better go to her with it first. And don't we all know someone like her?
