Kirk and Spock’s relationship also appears closer than ever.
Star Trek fans, the wait is over. The official trailer for Strange New Worlds season 4 is finally here. The new footage, which you can watch above courtesy of Paramount+, features the crew of the USS Enterprise boldly going where they’ve never gone before — and veteran Hollywood actor Joe Morton is coming along for the ride.
Morton, who is best known for his roles in the films Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Speed, and the thrilling television drama Scandal, appears at the 54-second mark draped in a stunning, blue Starfleet uniform. Morton’s character must be an officer of some importance — I’m guessing at the very least an admiral as he can be heard saying, “What we are about to do is hard.”
Morton, who also played Cyborg's father in the DCEU, can first be seen in a corridor with several crew members lined up to receive him, and he is clearly on the bridge of a vessel in the very next shot. The background is blurred, but I feel confident Quark would bet several gold latinum bars along with me in wagering that Morton’s character is on the Enterprise.
And as SNW co-star Rebecca Romijn alluded to during her appearance at this year’s Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in Mexico City, Star Trek fans can see Romijn’s character, Una Chin-Riley, aka Number One, and her landing party coming face to face with a deadly dinosaur! This is undoubtedly the Jurassic Park puppet the actress also teased working with at CCXP.
I’m so excited about the growing bond that is shown off in the SNW official trailer between James T. Kirk (Paul Wesley) and Mr. Spock (Ethan Peck). However, as a lifelong Trekkie and horror movie junkie, I love all the snippets shown throughout the trailer from the upcoming season 4 horror episode.
For instance, freeze-frame the footage at the 1:27 mark, and it appears that a Starfleet officer has been transformed into a zombie! Is that Una? It's hard to tell. Oh, and a few seconds before that, Trekkies will also notice what looks like a Pterodactyl unleashing a fiery attack against the Enterprise in space!

Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
