“Life finds a way” in the upcoming season of SNW.

Star Trek is known for boldly going where no one has gone before. However, who would have thought the crew of the USS Enterprise would ever come up against dinosaurs? Well, it’s happening in season 4 of Strange New Worlds, and Rebecca Romijn reveals that an actual puppet from Jurassic Park was used during the upcoming episode. Romijn said via TrekMovie.com:

“That was one of the stranger ones for me. And that was actually, we used a puppet from Jurassic Park. And that was incredible, acting against that particular puppet, and the watching the puppeteer work this puppet who was making facial expressions."

Romijn, who portrays Number One on Strange New Worlds, continued by saying:

"And the way it was moving, and everything. I became an audience member. I mean, I was almost like it was taking me out of the scene, to a certain extent, because it was incredible to see the puppeteer do its work.”

During another interview (via Collider) conducted in Mexico City for this year’s Comic Con Experience (CCXP), Romijn also revealed that “there’s a fight scene between one of our characters and that puppet.” After watching the Strange New Worlds season 4 teaser trailer, I’m guessing the Jurassic dinosaur goes up against either Erica Ortegas (Melissa Navia) or La’an Noonien Singh (Christina Chong).

Both characters are flanking Number One, aka Una Chin-Riley (Romijn), in the footage of the away team on the dinosaur planet. My money is on La’an, who has her phaser drawn and is ready for action in the Strange New Worlds season 4 teaser.
