And this time there's mutiny afoot aboard the USS Enterprise!
At long last, actor Joe Morton arrives as Admiral Simon Reeger in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4’s “Orders of Magnitude.” And the brand-new trailer for this year's eighth episode (below), courtesy of Trek's official Instagram account, teases a mutiny being contemplated while Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) is off-ship and out of communications range.
La’an Noonien Singh (Christina Chong) refers to Reeger as a living legend while talking to Mr. Spock (Ethan Peck) during the footage, as the Starfleet admiral tries to discern who is in command of the USS Enterprise while Pike is away. And, of course, the camera focuses on none other than Paul Wesley’s James T. Kirk, who is smiling in the footage.
“What we are about to do cannot be taken back,” Kirk insists during the “Orders of Magnitude” footage. Clearly, "Badmiral" Reeger and Starfleet’s plans to commandeer the vessel don’t sit well with young Kirk the Enterprise’s crew, as Dr. M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) warns, “This is mutiny.”
I was already excited about “Orders of Magnitude” because of the Strange New Worlds preview images featuring the long-awaited return of Wesley’s James T. Kirk. Plus, who isn’t a fan of the incomparable Joe Morton (Scandal, Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Zack Snyder's Justice League), who seems to prove that The Next Generation's infamous “Badmiral” moniker is back and badder than ever.
Now, what did you think of the new teaser trailer? Are you excited to see Morton and Wesley go toe to toe on screen? Share your comments with us on the Redshirts Always Die Facebook and X pages. And Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4’s “Orders of Magnitude” drops Thursday, Sept. 10, on Paramount+.
Live long and prosper!
