“We’re going to see a lot more action and a lot more time on time on planets.”

Four actors descended on Mexico City to promote Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 at this year’s Comic Con Experience (CCXP) in Mexico City. And joining Ethan Peck, Paul Wesley, and Celia Rose Gooding on the event’s Omelete Stage was Rebecca Romijn, who portrays Number, aka Una Chin-Riley on the streaming series.

And during Romijn’s appearance, the actress teased her character “leading more away missions” in Strange New Worlds season 4. Romijn said via TrekMovie.com: “The original pilot that was scrapped [‘The Cage’ starring Jeffrey Hunter] had the first officer, Number One, played by Majel Barrett Roddenberry. And she only had 13 minutes of screen time. So, I’ve been very lucky to be able to flesh out this character.”

Romijn continued by saying:

“We really got to know her. And she is an Illyrian and was hiding this terrible secret because it’s not allowed in Starfleet to be genetically modified. Now that she has been cleared of that and she was able to live her authentic self, at the beginning of season 4, we see Una request more time on planets and leading more away missions. So, we’re going to see a lot more action and a lot more time on planets.”

Romijn and her co-stars later unveiled the Strange New Worlds season 4 teaser on the CCXP’s main Thunder Stage, which did show footage of Number One leading a rad away team. The landing party included the USS Enterprise’s Una Chin-Riley, La’an Noonien Singh (Christina Chong), and Lt. Erica Ortegas (Melissa Navia).

I’m really excited to see that particular episode because it appears Number One, La’an, and Ortegas are investigating the prehistoric planet showed off in the trailer, which seems to be overrun by dinosaurs and pterosaurs! Have you seen the footage yet? Check out the link below, if not.
