“Please do not speak Vulcan. You accent is… improper!”
Is that Jessica Alba onboard the USS Enterprise? No, it is actress Bianca Nugara (Tell Me Lies), who portrays the new Vulcan crew member, and she does NOT appreciate Nyota Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding) trying to speak to her in that beautiful, alien language.
Yes, to countdown one week until Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4’s premiere on Paramount+, a new teaser has revealed a brand-new character joining the voyages of the starship Enterprise. The Strange New Worlds Vulcan video, which fans can watch below, was posted on Instagram and reads as follows: “Take a deep breath, some new coworkers are beaming aboard. A new season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds arrives in ONE WEEK!”
Unfortunately, there’s not much information offered in this Strange New Worlds footage as to the identity of the red-clad Vulcan. For a moment, I thought this might be the character Scotty (Martin Quinn) was kissing at the end of the SNW season 4 official trailer.
However, after viewing the video again, my money is still on Uhura locking lips with Scotty, who appears to be sporting Nichelle Nichols’ classic TOS hairstyle. I could be wrong. Regardless, though, I’m anxious to see that scene unfold during the new season.
In the comments section of the new Vulcan character’s video, some Star Trek fans are already theorizing who this new crew member could be, and the most popular answer so far is that this person talking to Uhura might be a distant relative of Enterprise’s T’Pol (Jolene Blalock) and Trip (Connor Trinneer).
Remember, this is just speculation, though, but I would enjoy it if this theory were true given how much I love those characters who served aboard the Enterprise NX-01.
