“Many tears were shed, many hugs were given…”
Season 5 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has officially wrapped filming, and many of the actors shared images and videos on their social media accounts as the cast and crew of the USS Enterprise neared the finish line of their five-year mission. However, one of the most emotional farewells was posted by Anson Mount.
The actor who brought a fresh new take to Star Trek's legendary Captain Christopher Pike expanded on his original hushed and heartfelt farewell to SNW over the weekend by writing the following on his Instagram account:
“Last night at approximately 11:15pm EST, the last ‘cut’ was called by Mr. Akiva Goldsman, but everyone was smiling and proud of the work (so much of which has yet to been seen by anyone outside the fold). During my career I have learned a couple of things: 1) Acting is a service position, and 2) so is leadership. Thank you for allowing me to occupy the chair. Full sails an[d] following winds, my friends. Pike out. ❤️🖖”
Fortunately, for the fans, Strange New Worlds is far from over. Season 4 is expected to hit Paramount Plus in 2026, and then the shortened six-episode fifth season will wrap up the adventures of Pike, Spock (Ethan Peck), La’an (Christina Chong) and the rest of the crew of the starship Enterprise thereafter.
