Verdict

Uhura was never meant to be expendable. Across timelines, tones, and genres, she remains one of Star Trek’s quietly commanding figures — a reminder that survival isn’t about the color of your uniform, but about what you bring to the bridge.
Nichelle Nichols is untouchable as the original Uhura. Celia Rose Gooding carries the torch forward with depth, nuance, and musical and narrative authority. Zoe Saldana kept the role alive in blockbuster style, sharp and unflappable under fire. Redshirts may die, but Uhura thrives.
