The Star Trek: Voyager documentary, "To the Journey—Looking Back at Star Trek: Voyager," has been a long time in the making since its record-breaking 1.2 million crowdfunding campaign which took place in 2021. Fans from all of the world showed their support and made Voyager the most successful crowdfunded documentary in history. Now, three years later, the documentary is complete, and the first screenings are coming up in November in New York, Los Angeles, and London. And there are still some tickets available for the New York and London events! In the meantime, 455 Films, which produced the documentary, has dropped a brief clip which unites Garret Wang , co-executive producer Bryan Fuller, and pre-production coordinator Lolita Fatjo as they take a tour around the Paramount lot.
It's a bit of nostalgia as the three share a brief look at where Gene Roddenberry's office used to be and take the proverbial trip down memory lane with Fuller sharing a tidbit about his interactions with Jeri Ryan . And this is just the tip of the iceberg with what we can expect from the documentary and just one more reason to get excited about this look back at one of the best Star Trek series.
Right now, plans are still underway for the wide release of the documentary which should happen in 2025. There are no set dates for that yet, but you can keep up with the happenings by subscribing to the documentary's Youtube channel where you can also see the teaser and the first look.
The documentary will include a digital release as well as Ble-Ray/DVD combos which include over two hours of bonus features. According to Trekmovie, there is still time for you to back the documentary and pre-order your Blu-Ray/DVD for $45, and you can pre-order the digital release for $35.
While you're waiting for next month or whenever you'll be able to see this Voyager documentary, last month, the Youtube channel Popcast shared a two-hour video about Voyager, calling it "the documentary you've been waiting for," and it's an excellent piece of work to get your ready for "To the Journey." The documentary is being shopped around to various streaming channels and there's even hope for a limited theatrical release. Regardless of how it's made available, this documentary will be a must see for all Voyager fans.
