It’s hard not to love Alan Tudyk. Whether he’s Wash or Steve the Pirate, now matter how wacky the character you can’t help but root for him. Tudyk isn’t going to fit the mold of being the captain of Starfleet’s flagship, but we could have a lot of fun watching him captain a smaller support vessel of sometime that just always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Perhaps he’s the captain of a small transport vessel that ends up playing a big role in a major Federation war? It would suit him and be an interesting change to not always be focused on the best of Starfleet. So much of Star Trek has been focused on the big ships of the line, but there could be some compelling and fun stories in a small vessel making its way through the galaxy.

And we can only hope Wash’s plastic dinosaurs make the trip to Tudyk’s Federation ship.
