The Best Star Trek Actor From Each State

These days, Las Vegas native Lycia Naff works primarily as a journalist. But in years past, Naff would have a lengthy run in feature films and TV shows with an acting career. She would appear in many movies, including Lethal Weapon and Troma’s Chopper Chicks in Zombie Town. But her most known film performance is certainly that of the three breasted alien woman in the Arnold Schwarzenegger film Total Recall.
Naff’s most well known role, however, is a much more flattering stint on Star Trek: The Next Generation. On that series, Naff plays Ensign Sonya Gomez, a role that spanned two episodes. However, the original plan was for her to stick around for longer as a love interest for Geordi. A planned storyline would have had Geordi fall in love with Sonya, leading to him wanting to finally remove his visor. He would have undergone an risky surgery just to be able to see her with his eyes.
For whatever reasons, though, the writers chose to go in another direction. It seems that the character was written as comic relief instead, including a moment when she spills hot chocolate on Captain Picard. But for what it’s worth, Naff is very enjoyable in the role.
