After weeks of voting, Star Trek fans have selected winners for the Starfleet and villains bracket, now it’s between James T. Kirk and the Borg Queen.
The hero and villains have been decided. After weeks of voting, the fans have made their voices heard. James T. Kirk will represent Starfleet, while the Borg Queen will be the sole survivor from the villain’s bracket. The final fight is upon us.
Unlike most of the selections leading into the finals of each bracket, Kirk and Spock, as well as the Borg Queen and Q, had awfully close matchups. The margin of victory was usually around 20% for most matchups, dozens of votes apart. For Kirk and Spock however, only three votes separated the two men. Fans were nearly evenly split from the onset, with neither side taking a profound lead at any point.
For the Borg Queen, however, she was not as close to start. For the first four days, John de Lancie’s Q was leading the vote . Never by great numbers, but by consistent numbers. That all changed on Wednesday when the Queen started to close the gap. By the end of the work-day on Thursday, she had a slight deficit. When the polls finally closed, she had won by one vote.
Only three total votes between the two polls were the difference between winners and a tie. The final battle has begun. It’s the greatest captain in Starfleet history (as voted on by you) versus the greatest threat Starfleet has ever had to face.
Kirk vs. the Borg, who wins? Vote now! Voting goes until Thursday, April 23, 2020. Polls close at 11:59 PM that night. Then and only then, will the greatest character in Star Trek history be crowned!
