LeVar Burton teased a Star Trek: Next Generation reunion of sorts for Picard, and hints at possible involvement in season two

Despite what some may claim, no, LeVar Burton did not confirm he and the Star Trek: Next Generation crew would be involved in Star Trek: Picard‘s 2nd season but did hint at it being a possibility. LeVar Burton, who played Geordi La Forge on the Next Generation series, spoke with Entertainment Tonight and teased the possibility that just about all of the Next Gen crew could one day pop up on Picard.

Speaking to Lauren Zima, Burton hinted at the possibility of returning his iconic role.

"How do I answer this without getting myself in trouble? I think that is reasonable to assume that those people are still a part of Picard’s life and…sure, what the hell? Yeah, absolutely!"

After being pressed by Zima if that meant he was confirmed for the series, Burton went on to say;

"You’ll see us all. I think you’ll see us all. Probably not all at the same time, although, you know, never say never."

Not a definitive yes, because Zima asked if there was a potential and a desire to show up. Not if he was definitively showing up. That’s a distinction that needs to be noted, as many are dropping out parts of the quote to fit a narrative. It was always likely he and other Next Generation stars would show up on Picard after Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner and Marina Sirtis all showed up in the first season of Picard.

No, this was not Burton confirming anything for the series but he did show interest in the idea. He also believes he will end up there, eventually. Would you like to see Burton and other cast members appear in the series?
