If you missed out on the Star Trek video game craze, now’s your chance!

While Star Trek is attempting to throw what feels like dozens of shows against the wall to see what will stick, the attempts to recapture the true golden era of Star Trek have not worked. As the franchise goes, it’s healthier now than it’s been in years but in media like Trek, merchandise is the king of success. The more you have, the better you’re doing and Star Trek only started to get back into the big merch game recently. They’ve been without action figures and video games for over a decade.

Since those are two big keys to franchise merch success, those are big keys not to have. Sure, Trek has mobile games but they’re unoriginal at best and uninspiring at worst. Then there’s Star Trek Online but it’s over 10 years old and hard for new players to get into.

No, when Trek was at its apex as a brand, the video games were aplenty and were incredibly diverse.

You can play the best Star Trek video games once again on GOG

For just $9.99 a pop, you can play (most) of the best Star Trek games in the history of the franchise thanks to GOG.com. The games include Elite Force, Elite Force II, Bridge Commander, Starfleet Command III, Hidden Evil, and Away Team.

Elite Force, Bridge Commander, and Starfleet Command are among the more vaunted games in the franchise, while most of the rest are certainly worthy of your time. For just $10, it’s certainly worth giving one or three a chance.

Two other games, Star Trek: Armada and Armada II are on their way but haven’t been announced just yet.

If you’re a fan of first-person games, then definitely try Elite Force I &II, but if real-time strategy is more your thing, then Starfleet Command III will be your preferred gaming experience.
