Star Trek Online to bring in Mirror Kathryn Janeway for Shadow’s Advance arc
By Chad Porto
Star Trek Online is bringing in the Mirror version of Kathryn Janeway.
Star Trek Online is adding a little dose of the Delta Quadrant with this new arc, involving Star Trek: Voyager’s very own captain, Kathryn Janeway. Voyager is a unique show, as it took a different approach to the world of Trek, embraced some core concepts, and got away from others. In a lot of ways, it embraced the original Star Trek series from the 1960s. Exploring uncharted space, meeting aliens that were never seen before, and doing so while expressing lessons to viewers.
It didn’t embrace everything from the original series, as it remains one of the few shows not to explore the mirror universe. For fans new to the product, the mirror universe is as it sounds, what’s good is bad, what’s right is wrong and everyone who doesn’t have facial hair does.
Spock with a goatee was just weird.
Yet, Voyager, The Next Generation, and some of the newer shows didn’t look into this concept. The Next Generation series is only now truly exploring it with the IDW comic line. Voyager will now expand on the concept as well, thanks to Star Trek Online introducing everyone to Mirror Kathryn Janeway.

The new story arc, called Shadows Advance, sees Admiral Kathyrn Janeway of the prime universe teaming up with Terran Marshall Kathryn Janeway of the mirror universe. While the character has existed as early as 1999 in the non-canon books, this is the first time the character will be voiced and played by Kate Mulgrew.
Joining Mulgrew in this story arc will be Mary Wiseman as the mirror version of her Discovery character, Tilly (Captain Sylvia “Killy” Tilly), and former Deep Space Nine actress Chase Masterson, whose former character from the show, Leeta, is now an in-universe admiral for Star Fleet.
