Star Trek fans can get their hands on a new tabletop game called Star Trek: Cryptic.

Star Trek fans looking for a change of pace from the television shows, films, and various merchandising opportunities would do wise to take a chance on something new. Like for instance, Tabletop games. Tabletop games are becoming more and more popular as of late, and Trek already has one out called Star Trek: Adventures.

Adventures is a game that plays sort of like Dungeons and Dragons in the sense that you build campaigns, and use data sheets to keep track of your characters. Well, if that’s not your cup of tea, there’s a new Trek game that you may be interested in.

Created by Funko (the same company that creates the Funkok Pop figures), this new game is called Star Trek: Cryptid, and instead of campaigning-designed gameplay, this game asks you to use your skills to crack codes.

The game isn’t out just yet, but keep your eyes out for it.

It’s a good time to be a fan of Star Trek gaming

It’s a good time to be a Star Trek fan if you have free time on your hands. In the last 365 days alone Adventures added a Lower Decks expansion pack, and saw two new video games come out; one called SuperNova, and another one based on the Telltale game franchise from the late 2000s called Resurgence

Not only that, but Star Trek Online has seen several expansions come to their game, including the arrival of Kathryne Janeway and more recently the debut of the Enterprise-G to the ranks of the game.

That doesn’t even factor in all the action figures that you may want to try out.
