If you missed out on the opportunity to buy the much-lauded LEGO Star Trek: The Next Generation set, then get ready for some happy news because the company just announced a restock after the set sold out within hours during its Black Friday release. The latest update from the LEGO website reveals the beloved starship will ship in 60 days, but customers are limited to backordering only two USS Enterprise-D sets.
The Enterprise-D LEGO set, which retails in the United States for $399.99, sold out so quickly that the company couldn't even accept any more backorders because of the limited stock vs. the high demand. LEGO restocking the Enterprise-D is great news for collectors and fans alike, who resigned themselves to a longer wait on Black Friday, when the set not only sold out in the U.S. but all over the world.
After years of seeing other franchises get the LEGO treatment, from Star Wars to beloved Disney characters, it's gratifying for us Star Trek fans to finally get some love from the company's designers. While the price is a bit steep, especially for the average fan like yours truly, it certainly doesn't stop us from absolutely wanting this set! It comes with minifigures for plenty of Star Trek fun, and the build images only make me want one even more! They sure know how to draw you in over at LEGO, don't they?
