What do you get when you cross hungry tribbles with a Klingon farmer's corn crop? You get a whole mess of hungry little tribbles, which is exactly what happens on this episode of Star Trek: Scouts. Buckle up, fellow adventurers!
In this holodeck rescue, the Scouts encounter a hungry tribble helping itself to a Klingon farmer's corn crop before popping out from the field and frightening the farmer halfway to Sto-vo-kor! Fortunately, the Scouts are ready to help.
Roo scans the tribble and tells her friends that when tribbles eat, they multiply. JR and Sprocket imagine this happening and it sends the Klingon farmer into another panic attack! The Scouts have to capture the corn-eating alien before it starts to multiply and the hoard destroys the whole crop.
JR, Roo, and Sprocket deploy their critter catchers and venture into the cornfield. Roo says tribbles love corn, leading Sprocket to wonder if they like popcorn as well, because he sure does.
Suddenly, the tribble pops out and leads all three Scouts on a wild chase through the cornfield. It seems that this tribble is as fast as it is hungry. JR nets the tribble, but there's more trouble as a second tribble perches on Roo's head! Oh no, they've multiped after all!
The Scouts try to net all the other tribbles, but they overtake the hapless heroes!
They don't give up, though, and JR suggests that they need to offer the tribbles something better than corn, and Roo suggests tribble treats to lure the famished furballs into a transporter that will return the tribbles to their home planet without harming them.
While this plan works, the tribbles get so excited that they form a giant furry wave that sweeps up JR as they head for the transporter!
JR tosses the treat on a stick to Roo, who pulls him free and tosses the treat into the awaiting transporter. The tribbles get beamed away, and the Klingon farmer thanks them for saving his corn. Another mission accomplished!
