“Frankly, the series finale, is really special…”
With Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4 having officially gone down in the history books, it’s now time for fans to look forward to 2027 and the final six episodes of The Original Series prequel. And, according to recurring guest star Paul Wesley, his version of James T. Kirk shares plenty of screen time with Mr. Spock (Ethan Peck) in a "really special" SNW series finale.
Wesley said in an interview (per Collider): “Some of the stuff that Spock and I do in the finale, frankly, the series finale, is really special because the Spock-Kirk relationship is arguably the most important relationship of the entire story, from all the Star Treks.
Wesley, who is best known outside of Star Trek for portraying Stefan Salvatore on the supernatural television drama The Vampire Diaries, continued by saying in the same interview:
"I guess I'm a little partial to that, but I am proud of what we accomplished together on screen throughout this series.”
I was delighted to catch a glimpse of the commander Wesley’s James T. Kirk will become in the Strange New Worlds season 4 finale “Tomorrow’s Enterprise.” And it was certainly entertaining how that more confident Kirk interacted with his crew.
Admittedly, though, while I was happy to see more of Kirk and Lt. Nyota Uhura’s (Celia Rose Gooding) friendship explored in the last episode of 2026, I hated how little screen time the future captain of the USS Enterprise shared with his best friend and the starship’s science officer. So, plenty of Kirk and Spock in the Strange New Worlds series finale sounds — dare I say it — most logical.
Who else is excited that Wesley has confirmed plenty of Spirk (Spock and Kirk) in the Strange New Worlds series finale? Live long and prosper, Trekkies!
