Paramount+’s Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is just over two weeks away from its Jan. 15, 2026 debut, and a newly shared video is offering fans one of their most detailed looks yet at the series’ expansive physical sets. Karim Diane, who plays Klingon cadet Jay-Den Kraag in the series, posted a short video showcasing several of Starfleet Academy’s standing environments, giving viewers a sense of the scale behind the franchise’s next chapter.

Moving through the campus, Diane notes in the clip that the Academy complex is “the largest set ever built for any Star Trek TV show in history,” as the video reveals long corridors, multi-level spaces, and a cadet dorm room, with working areas designed to function as a lived-in institution rather than a single-purpose backdrop. Watch the full video below.

The video highlights interiors that feel recognizably Star Trek without leaning heavily on nostalgia. Clean lines, layered architecture, and open sightlines suggest a modern Starfleet aesthetic built for an ensemble series.

The tour also offers a quick look at the hologram cadet SAM (Series Acclimation Mil), who is one the core characters the show will focus on, while the surrounding tech-heavy environment hints that advanced systems will be deeply embedded in daily cadet life.

Fans get a brief glimpse, early in the video, of Oded Fehr as Admiral Charles Vance, reprising the role he originated on Star Trek: Discovery. Viewers can also spot Jonathan Frakes on the set, a comforting sight given his longtime association with the franchise.

One moment at the end lingers on the Academy’s San Francisco location, complete with a sweeping skyline view. “It’s beautiful,” Diane says, grounding the futuristic setting in one of Star Trek’s most familiar real-world locations.

With its premiere fast approaching, the video makes clear that Starfleet Academy is being positioned as more than a modest spinoff. From its campus-scale sets to its legacy connections, the series is aiming to be a major new foundation for modern Star Trek.
