Terror is on tap when Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4’s second episode, “The Griffin Incident” drops on streaming later this week. Additionally, this installment will mark the first time actor Paul Wesley’s James T. Kirk meets up with the crew of the USS Enterprise in 2026.

However, fans don’t have to wait until Thursday, as 20 images from the Strange New Worlds episode "The Griffin Incident" were posted online courtesy of Trek’s official Instagram account. Check out the sneak-peek photos below.

Well before last weekend’s mammoth Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Wesley already teased that Strange New Worlds’ upcoming horror episode was one of his favorites to work on for season 4.

Both the SNW season 4 teaser and official trailer have featured footage of “The Griffin Incident,” which includes a terrified James. T Kirk screaming at the top of his lungs. There’s also another segment from the video where a bone-chilling, zombie-esque hand touches La’an Noonien Singh (Christina Chong) on the right shoulder.

I’d also like to point out that there’s another ghastly moment in the Strange New Worlds official season 4 trailer, in which a female Starfleet officer (perhaps actress Rebecca Romijn’s Una Chin-Riley) has been zombified at the 1:27-minute mark.

Since I love horror movies almost as much as I do Star Trek, “The Griffin Incident” is the episode I’ve been dying — maybe not the right way to turn a phrase — to see. A close second-place pick: the return of Trelane (Rhys Darby).

And, for those Star Trek fans who might have missed it, one of the funniest interviews to come out of the Strange New Worlds season 4 press tour so far happened when Wesley, Chong, and co-star Ethan Peck all answered questions about “The Griffin Incident.”

As I alluded to earlier, Wesley already revealed at CCXP in Mexico City this last April just how much he enjoyed making the horror episode. And when Chong was asked about her experience shooting “The Griffin Incident,” the actress hilariously replied (per TrekMovie.com): “I enjoyed stabbing Paul [laughs].”

“Thanks, Chrissy,” Wesley replied.
