These SNW actors set course for Italy this summer to celebrate 60 years of Trek.

Strange New Worlds actors will boldly go abroad this summer as several prominent cast members have been added to the upcoming Star Trek 60th anniversary celebration in Italy. Captain Christopher Pike actor Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn (Una-Chin Riley, aka Number One), and Celia Rose Gooding (Nyota Uhura) will all be on hand this July for the Italian Global Series (IGS).

Mount, Romijn, and Gooding join Star Trek icon Jeri Ryan, who played the Borg-human hybrid Seven of Nine in both Voyager and Picard, as well as director Nicholas Meyer (The Wrath of Khan, The Undiscovered Country), who serves as IGS’ President of the Limited Series Jury.

A special screening of the Strange New Worlds season 4 premiere is also now scheduled for the 60th anniversary Italian celebration of creator Gene Roddenberry’s visionary science fiction franchise.

IGS artistic director Marco Spagnoli also singled out the relevance of both Star Trek and Ryan’s beloved character, Seven, who will even lead her own comic book later this year. Spagnoli said (per Variety):

"Jeri Ryan has explored questions about machines, artificial intelligence and what it means to be human — all very modern concerns. Star Trek was born of the Vietnam era, but so many of its themes still resonate, especially that idea of peace, that optimistic vision of a future driven by cooperation. That’s not limited to 1966.”

The Italian Global Series takes place from Friday, July 3, through closing night on Saturday, July 11, at five festival locations split between Rimini and Riccione, Italy. And admission to the IGS is free to the general public.

The following is the schedule for the Star Trek events being held at IGS — courtesy of the series' official website — and a description of the 60th anniversary celebration, which reads as follows:

"Exclusive preview screening of the first episode of season 4 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, followed by a celebration of one of the most iconic and influential franchises in the history of television and contemporary pop culture."

The description continues as follows:

"The series stars Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, and Celia Rose Gooding will be in attendance. Joining them will be two true legends of the franchise: actress Jeri Ryan (the iconic Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Picard) and director and screenwriter Nicholas Meyer."

Schedule:

Nicholas Meyer conversation: Tuesday, July 7, at 8 p.m. (GMT+2).

Star Trek 60th anniversary celebration: Wednesday, July 8, at 10:30 p.m.

Those Star Trek fans who want to attend can register for the 60th anniversary celebration and reserve their spot by following this link to the IGS website. Likewise, if you'd like to attend the coversation with Meyer here is the link.

I’d also like to add that Wednesday, July 8, will mark the first public screening of the SNW season 4 debut episode. Another special showing is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, July 21, at The Arnhold Center in New York City. However, as of Thursday, June 25, only 12 seats remain (starting at $80 a piece).
